"Football drives the engine in the Big East, not basketball," O'Leary said on the show. "Basketball is known, the Big East [is known] in basketball but the revenue is in football. Seventy-three percent of the revenue came from football in the Big East, which is paying the bills. I think the powers that be know that."
O'Leary also touched on USF coach Willie Taggert's comments about owning the I-4 cooridor, essentially saying "show me, don't tell me."
The rivalry with USF will be good for UCF, O'Leary said, and he also hopes that the game between the two schools will be played on Thanksgiving weekend.
