Recruiting Buzz: Johnson is massive, but has tremendous athletic ability for a 315-pound lineman.
As a high school senior, he played tackle on both sides of the ball for American Heritage. Eventually he could line up at guard for the Gators.
Johnson has the footwork and agility where he could get out in front of plays and make blocks down field. But like most freshmen linemen, Johnson will have to improve his stamina, strength and technique.
Coaches like to redshirt offensive linemen, but if necessary Johnson might be able to provide depth at a couple of spots.
He committed early to Florida, had second thoughts last August, but decided for good on the Gators in December.

Recruiting Buzz: Few running back recruits in 2013 might have the strength of Lane, who bench-pressed 415 pounds as a junior to win a silver medal at the state meet.
Lane, who was clocked at 4.7 seconds in the 40-yard dash, lacks some top-end speed, but is a quick, shifty and determined runner. He also knows how to set up his blocks.
Put it all together and Lane was a hand full for defenses in 2012, when he ran for 1,700 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Lane also rushed for 1,000 yards – on just 80 carries – as a sophomore. But he missed his junior football season with a broken leg.
Sophomore Matt Jones is expected to step in for leading rusher Mike Gillislee, while Kelvin Taylor also will challenge for carries. Even as a freshman, Lane might be able to provide a nice change-of-pace back for the Gators.
