Jennifer Jo Nestle, 63, of Petoskey, died June 18, 2012, at the Georgia House AFC in Charlevoix after a lengthy, courageous battle with cancer.
Jennifer was born on May 10, 1949, in Alma, Mich., the daughter of the late Russel and Neva (Needham) Nestle and graduated from Alma High School and later received her associate degree from Cowley County Community College in Arkansas City, Kan.
Jennifer worked in the accounts payable department at the Rubbermaid Company and later for the Michigan Masonic Home in Alma, Mich. In 2004, Jennifer moved to Petoskey and went to work for Kilwin's in the kitchen as a candy maker.
She was a member of the Epsilon United Methodist Church, with which she was very active. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, Sudoku, cooking, baking cookies and watching the Detroit Tigers. Jennifer's greatest joy was her grandchildren. She loved every moment she spent with them and enjoyed going to their sporting events.
She is survived by two sons, Rodney (Carla) Wiltse of Petoskey and Alan (Holly) Wiltse of Camden, N.C.; nine grandchildren, Tate, Drake, Birk, Kian, Sage, Zia, Heath, Darren,and Justin Wiltse; two sisters, Sharon (Dale) Webster and Betty (Jerry) Taber, both of Lake City, Mich.; a brother, Al (Loretta) Nestle, of Alma, Mich.; and by many nieces and nephews.
A service celebrating Jennifer's life will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 21, at the Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey with pastor Vaughan W. Thurston-Cox officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Petoskey.
