1. Hillary and Arnold in the Obama administration

Today's question: Is there a role for Hillary Clinton in the White House? How about Arnold Schwarzenegger? Previously, Lilly and Weigel weighed potential Cabinet picks and discussed Rahm Emanuel's selection as chief of staff.

3. A real school reformer for Obama

Rather than recycle sound bites as evidence of one's credentials as an "education reformer," it would behoove The Times and other national media outlets to be a little more like Linda Darling-Hammond (President-elect Barack Obama's transition chief on education policy) and do their research.

Today's question: Who would you like to see in Barack Obama's Cabinet, and which potential picks do you think would be a mistake? 7. How Bush can smooth the Gitmo transition

Today's question: Obama has pledged to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay. What, if anything, should President Bush do to support the shift, given his opposition to that policy? Previously, Kaye and Sulmasy weighed the symbolism and merits of Obama's promise to close Gitmo.

11. All-digital TV's time has come

At the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last week, technology companies from around the world showed off television sets that can display personalized and interactive broadcasts, tune in programs from the Internet and effortlessly grab pictures from cellphones, cameras and camcorders. It's the next generation of television -- an evolution driven by the advent of digital TVs and programming. That evolution was slated to reach a critical point Feb. 17, when local TV stations were to turn off their analog broadcasts and transmit only digital signals. But just as the convention kicked off, President-elect Barack Obama's transition team asked Congress to postpone the cutoff indefinitely. Needless to say, the news was not warmly received by manufacturers that have been promoting the switch to digital for more than a decade.

13. Obama's challenge changes

In running a successful national campaign, Barack Obama laid down guidelines that came to be seen as hallmarks of his leadership style. He prizes loyalty, discretion, teamwork and selflessness, say those who have worked with him.

17. Down to business

Washington Bureau
WASHINGTON—It's almost certain that the handoff of the White House from President George W. Bush to President-elect Barack Obama will pass more smoothly than the greeting that Bush's new crew faced in 2001. The Ws were removed from the keyboards in...
