Chicago's TV connection: Our small screen stars
Jennifer Hudson, Danny Pudi, Nico Tortorella, Busy Philipps ... The list goes on and on. Chicago-born, bred or trained actors are all over our TVs. And they just keep coming, it turns out. As the fall 2012 season approaches, I'll be updating this list of actors who were either born in or around Chicago or spent a significant amount of time here. I stuck with actors from scripted series that have aired within the last couple years. I'm sure I forgot many actors, so please leave a comment and I can update the gallery.

Nico Tortorella of 'The Following'
Nico Tortorella, stars in Fox's "The Following" as Jacob Wells, got his first acting job at age 8 when he played a munchkin in "The Wizard of Oz" at a children's theater in his hometown of Wilmette. He graduated from New Trier High School, appearing in plays throughout the Chicago area where, he says, was a RedEye reader. He got the first of his "10 or 11" tattoos in Chicago and was driven to the tattoo parlor by his mother.
