  3. Morality bites

    Tribune staff reporter
What I feared most was the screaming. Desperate cries from a freaked-out pig might ruin bacon for me forever. I'd spent the previous two days hanging out with happy hogs at the idyllic Newman Farm on the Arkansas- Missouri border. I watched them trot...

  5. Reuse

I am an artist with Union Street Gallery in Chicago Heights, creating jewelry and sculpture from found objects which have been recycled from trash, garage sales, thrift shops and more. Creating "treasures from trash" is another way to reuse and recycle. Our gallery building is also recycled, it was originally a Elks Club, built in 1927.

  15. How to avoid tourist traps in Key West

KEY WEST -- I am relaxing on a tropical beach surrounded by palm tress, pinky white sand and surf the color of deep blue hydrangeas, all sparkled into pastel diamonds by the sun. 17. How lost can you get?

    Times Staff Writer
When I say I sneaked onto the set of the popular ABC drama "Lost," trudging along a deserted beach and cutting through a bit of jungle to find the cast and crew, it sounds more intrepid than it actually was. In truth, I wasn't anywhere near lost; in fact,...
