    The pilot phase of the Johnstown Backpack Collaborative began this month, serving 120 Johnstown-area children. Lee Initiatives spearheaded the project in response to reports on the number of hungry children in the Johnstown area. In fact, the organization Feeding America estimates that 6,290 children in Cambria County don’t have enough to eat or are food insecure — not sure where the next meal will come.
