1. Ravens training camp highlights: Saturday's practice

CUNDIFF BLINKS: It took a full week of practices, but one of the kickers finally missed a field goal. After making his first 18 field-goal attempts in training camp -- including a 51-yarder and a 55-yarder on Saturday -- veteran Billy Cundiff missed wide left from 48 yards at the end of the practice. Rookie Justin Tucker connected on all seven of his attempts -- including ones from 51 and 54 yards -- to improve to a perfect 20-for-20 in training camp. Both have been impressive.

  3. Corey Graham not shocked by his play thus far

One of the more pleasant surprises of Ravens training camp thus far has been the play of cornerback Corey Graham. Signed to a two-year deal by the organization in March after he turned last season into a Pro Bowl campaign as a special-teams ace, the former Chicago Bear has impressed the coaching staff enough to join rookie Asa Jackson as the next tandem of cornerbacks after Lardarius Webb, Cary Williams and Jimmy Smith.

Albert McClellan joined the Ravens in 2010 as an outside linebacker, shifted inside last season, and finds himself returning as an outside pass rusher. So where does McClellan see himself fit?

  7. Ravens highlights: Secondary brings the pressure

SECONDARY SPARKLES: Even without eight-time Pro Bowl free safety Ed Reed and cornerback Jimmy Smith, the secondary blanketed the receivers. During an exercise in which the cornerbacks were asked to cover wide receivers one-on-one with quarterbacks Joe Flacco and Curtis Painter taking snaps from the 12-yard line, Flacco connected on just three touchdowns among at least 10 passes. Painter did not throw a touchdown and was intercepted when a pass went through rookie wide receiver Dorian Graham’s hands and into those of rookie Jordan Maybin.

  9. Taking stock of Ravens' depth chart

Nothing of true consequence has transpired yet at Ravens training camp, not even an actual preseason game -- the best litmus tests for who's worthy of inclusion on the roster.

  11. Injured shoulder could keep Dickson out couple of weeks

ATLANTA -- Tight end Ed Dickson salvaged an otherwise disappointing night for the Ravens' first-team offense by going up high and snatching a Joe Flacco pass for a 9-yard touchdown early in the second quarter of the preseason opener Thursday.

  13. Five Ravens who impressed, five who struggled in preseason opener

The Ravens’ 31-17 preseason-opening victory against the Atlanta Falcons featured a subpar performance by many of the starters, and a spirited comeback, fueled by some of the organization’s younger players. Here is a look at five players who helped their status and five who may have taken a step back.

  19. Slow start doomed Ravens defense in preseason opener

The Ravens’ secondary struggled in the preseason opener against the Atlanta Falcons, allowing quarterback Matt Ryan to throw for 155 yards and Julio Jones to catch six balls for 109 yards and a touchdown in one quarter. However, defensive coordinator Dean Pees said the defense’s problems against the Falcons were not confined to the secondary.

  21. Ravens news and notes after second OTA

I feel like I have to preface every one of these post-OTA observation blogs by offering the reminder that drawing any conclusions from these workouts would be foolish on my part. Still, some players clearly make a bigger impression than others and I can say without hesitation that nobody stood out more in yesterday’s session than second-year wide receiver LaQuan Williams. First of all, conditioning was not the issue for him, but Williams looks even leaner and much more explosive than he did during his rookie season. And during drills, Williams showed great speed and tremendous hands, even making a one-handed catch in traffic at one point on a Joe Flacco pass. Williams also beat Lardarius Webb on a couple of occasions along the sideline. With 12 receivers on the Ravens’ roster and the addition of several accomplished special teams players, Williams likely faces another uphill battle to make the team. But something tells me that’s just the way he wants it and he’s more than up for the challenge.
