3. Who is the better back: Ray Rice or Chris Johnson?

Looking back at it three and a half years later, the 2008 NFL draft produced a strong crop of running backs. Darren McFadden, Matt Forte, Rashard Mendenhall and Jamaal Charles are all starters now. Jonathan Stewart, Tim Hightower, Felix Jones, Tashard Choice and Steve Slaton have each had their moments.

5. Jets defense aims not to give up 'the edge' against Ray Rice

Before Rex Ryan had a chance to say anything to his players in the visitors’ locker room of O.co Coliseum, nose tackle Sione Pouha said the defense was already “sulking.” But after yielding 234 rushing yards in the 34-24 loss to the Oakland Raiders, the Jets’ most critical task is turning last Sunday’s disappointment into this Sunday’s improvement.

7. Fantasy Fodder: What to make of Torrey Smith's outburst

Torrey Smith torched the Rams in Week 3, catching five passes for 152 yards and three touchdowns. Now he is burning up the waiver wire, and you can be sure that someone will claim him in your fantasy league. I got a text message shortly after midnight...

9. Three things that could go right/wrong for Ravens vs. Jets

Three things that need to go RIGHT …
Three things that need to go RIGHT … 1. Provide a healthy serving of Rice. The Jets’ run defense was gouged for 234 yards by Darren McFadden and the Raiders last week. The Jets feel it was an aberration, but Ray Rice could test that theory....

11. Jeff Zrebiec's scouting report: Ravens vs. Jets

RAVENS RUN OFFENSE VS. JETS RUN DEFENSE: The Jets have spent the days leading up to the game answering questions about what has happened to their run defense. Unable to set the edge and deal with the Oakland Raiders’ speed last week, they were gashed for 234 yards on the ground, an average of 7.3 yards per carry by Darren McFadden and company. The Jets currently rank 31st in the NFL in run defense, a surprise considering that they ranked third in the NFL in that category last season, and they boast fast and athletic linebackers in David Harris and Bart Scott. The Ravens didn’t run the ball a lot last week against the St. Louis Rams, but they still accumulated 168 yards on the ground and averaged 6.5 yards per carry. The Ravens are eighth in the league with 383 rushing yards and Ray Rice is ninth in the league with 231 yards despite ranking 20th in the NFL with 41 carries. Rice was shut down by the Jets in last year’s season opener, gaining 43 yards on 21 carries. It’s likely that the Ravens will try to establish him early.

13. Pre-snap read: Ravens-Jets

There’s a reason this family feud will again be fought in front of a nationally televised audience. As long as John Harbaugh and Rex Ryan, who were both candidates for the Ravens’ head coaching gig after the 2007 season, run the Ravens and the Jets, respectively, this rivalry will remain intense.

15. Jeff Zrebiec's Ravens-Texans scouting report

RAVENS RUN OFFENSE VS. TEXANS RUN DEFENSE: Fullback Vonta Leach, who spent four seasons with the Texans, has undoubtedly given his Ravens’ teammates and coaches plenty of advice on how to run the ball against Houston. The Texans’ rush defense is surrendering 105.8 yards a game, which puts it 12th in the NFL. Houston did slow the Oakland Raiders’ Darren McFadden last week, holding him to 51 yards on 16 carries. Ravens coach John Harbaugh said that that team talked extensively this week about its identity, and maintaining an aggressive approach. Expect that to include a heavy dose of Ray Rice, who rushed for only 54 yards against the Texans last season but did catch eight passes for 66 yards. The Ravens are ninth in the league in rushing, averaging 123.8 yards per game. They got their ground game going late in the victory over the New York Jets, running on 11 straight plays at one point. The Ravens could get a boost if left guard Ben Grubbs returns after missing three weeks with a toe injury. Linebackers Brian Cushing and DeMeco Ryans are the Texans’ top tacklers.

17. Fantasy Fodder: Taking stock after deadline deals

21. Fantasy Fodder: Eagles offense, Tebowing and more

The Philadelphia Eagles haven’t been the team we expected (I’m no longer using the ‘D’ word when talking about the Eagles, and you’re welcome). They are 3-5 at the midway point of the season, and their margin for error to make it into the playoffs is slim. But have the Eagles been dreamy from a fantasy perspective?
