    — J.J. Watt may have spit on the Patriots' midfield logo before this AFC divisional playoff game, but it is Wes Welker who continues, game after game, year after year, to spit in the face of football convention.

  7. 3 questions with Ravens safety James Ihedigbo

Since being signed Sept. 3, James Ihedigbo has been a versatile player for the Ravens. The 6-foot-1, 214-pound Ihedigbo started three games at strong safety for Bernard Pollard when he was dealing with a rib injury and finished the regular season with 19 tackles and one sack. The six-year veteran has also contributed on special teams, finishing with six tackles in the regular season. Ihedigbo spent the first four years of his career with the New York Jets before going to Super Bowl XLVI last season as a member of the New England Patriots, the Ravens' opponent in Sunday's AFC championship game. Ihedigbo, a 29-year-old native of Amherst, Mass., who played at the University of Massachusetts, discussed returning to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., as a member of the opposing team.

  17. Chuck Pagano says it will be 'special' to return to Baltimore as Colts coach

The visiting locker room at Gillette Stadium following last year's AFC championship game was eerily silent when a sharply attired Chuck Pagano walked briskly toward the door, rolling a suitcase behind him. He stopped only briefly, embracing linebacker Jarret Johnson as the two whispered a few words.

    — A year ago, he was still sitting in an orphanage in Addis Ababa, one of five million Ethiopian orphans and vulnerable children. To be honest, sitting is probably the wrong word. For as the one-line description of Matiwos in his adoption portfolio read, "Lives to play, not to sit."
