  3. Loyola seeking first signature win of 2013

Reigning national champion Loyola has won seven of its first nine contests this season, but both of the team’s losses have occurred against ranked opponents. The No. 15 Greyhounds (7-2 overall and 3-0 in the Eastern College Athletic Conference) get a chance to change that trend when they pay a visit to No. 8 and league rival Ohio State (6-2, 1-1) this Saturday.

  7. Charley Toomey eager to field full Loyola team free of obstacles

A 10-3 thrashing of Michigan on Saturday helped Loyola improve to 7-2 overall and 3-0 in the Eastern College Athletic Conference this season. But the No. 15 Greyhounds are in this position despite not having played with a full deck of cards.

  13. Loyola at Georgetown: Three things to watch

Georgetown owns a 29-6 advantage in this series, but Loyola is enjoying a five-game winning streak. The No. 15 Greyhounds (5-2) have won three of the last four contests, including Saturday’s 13-7 victory over Air Force at the Whitman Sampler Mile High Classic in Denver. Senior attackman Mike Sawyer is questionable, but freshman Zach Herreweyers scored three goals in Sawyer’s place against the Falcons. The Hoyas (3-3) snapped a two-game losing skid with a 16-8 rout of previously undefeated Providence last Saturday. Sophomore attackman Reilly O’Connor paced the team with nine points on five goals and four assists. Here are a few factors that could play a role in the outcome at Multi-Sport Field in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday night.

  21. Charley Toomey wants to end comparisons between current Loyola squad and last year's team

In the aftermath of last Friday night’s 9-8 loss to a then-unranked Duke team, Loyola invited scrutiny about whether it had the talent and will to match last year’s squad that captured the university’s first Division I national title. The constant comparisons to last season, however, are not welcomed by coach Charley Toomey.
