The holiday season is well under way in Wichita and what better way to celebrate the holiday season than by taking a drive around town to view all of the holiday light displays. Several local light displays will open this weekend, including Lights on St. Paul, Illuminations, and Lights on the Lake. We’ve also got holiday musical performances, horse-drawn carriage rides and visits from Santa.

1) Lights on St. Paul
Time: Thursday, November 22 – Friday, December 28
Date: Sunday – Thursday – 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Friday – Saturday – 5:30 PM – 10:00 PM
Where: The Arc of Sedgwick County, Douglas & St. Paul, Wichita

Why you should go: Help The Arc of Sedgwick County celebrate the holiday season by attending the 15th Annual Lights on St. Paul, open from Thanksgiving, November 22, through December 28.
Continuing to grow each year, the light display now includes over one million twinkling lights, animated light shows and displays, dozens of new LED displays, and many of the show’s traditional attractions. Tune your car radio to B98 FM and watch the light displays perform to synchronized holiday music.
The half-mile extravaganza starts at the corner of Douglas and St. Paul (4 blocks West of Meridian). Donations will be accepted when you exit the light show or get your picture taken with Santa for a $5 donation. Donations raised will go towards The Arc of Sedgwick County’s programs and services for individuals and families living with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
2) Lights on the Lake
Time: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Date: Thursday, November 22 – Sunday, December 23
Where: Heartspring, 8700 E. 29th St. N., Wichita
Why you should go: Tune into 89.7 FM to Heartspring’s Holiday Program as you drive through the Lights on the Lake show this weekend. The event will be open Thursday – Sunday, from November 22 - December 9 and nightly Thursday, December 13 – Sunday, December 25.
Lights on the Lake has expanded its yearly show by adding thousands of new lights, in addition to the traditional 40-foot Christmas tree overlooking the lake and other Christmas light displays. After driving through the light show, make sure to stop and get your picture taken with Santa Claus for $5.
The drive-thru light show is FREE, but donations will be accepted and given to the Heartspring Pediatric Services, a program that makes sure that children with special needs have a chance to receive life-changing therapies.
3) Christmas on the Prairie
Time: Gates open 5:00 p.m., Dinner 6:30 p.m., Show 7:30 p.m.
Date: Friday, November 23 – Saturday, December 22
Where: Prairie Rose Chuckwagon Supper, 15231 SW Parallel St, Benton
Cost: $30 Adults, $10 Kids 6 – 12, $5 Ages 3 – 5, Under 3 FREE
Why you should go: The Prairie Rose Chuckwagon will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland this Friday, providing a perfect old-fashioned Christmas location to spend the weekend with your family. The event includes horse-drawn carriage rides, classic cowboy movies, Christmas shows for kids, and a visit from Santa.
