1. Crime & Punishment: A 72-Year Old Marijuana-Growing Grandpa

Donato Anthony Minicozzi, a 49-year-old flooring salesman from New Jersey, embarked on a campaign of harassment against a New Canaan woman he dated more than 20 years ago and her husband, police told the Stamford Advocate. The couple says someone made menacing calls to their home three to five times a day for six weeks. He also placed orders for 20 pizzas and a massive quantity of Chinese food which were delivered to the residence and threatened to send a parade of strippers and call girls. The man contacted the husband at the financial firm where he works to belittle him as a "crook" for having worked at Bear Stearns. The couple thought the caller wanted money but pieced together references to the wife's college years to implicate Minicozzi (though the motive was still unclear because they had only gone on a few dates). Police say Minicozzi, who recently went through a divorce, said the calls were a "prank" gone too far.

  5. 'Voyeur' Playing at Silvermine Arts Center This Weekend

Choreographer/dancers Art Bridgman and Myrna Packer have been collaborating for over 30 years. In Voyeur, which will be staged three times over the course of the weekend at Silvermine Arts Center, they'll use the paintings of Edward Hopper a jump off point and then integrate video into their performance, making it a third party. As the title implies, the work delves into the viewing of fragmented moments in private lives. Before each performance, the audience is encouraged to walk through the set and the video projections to see what's there, which is cool because let's face it, we're all voyeurs.

  9. The New Canaan Historical Society's Little Red Riding Hood-Themed Exhibit

The New Canaan Historical Society's exhibit about Little Red Riding Hood, Seeing Red, wouldn't be complete without a visit from a real, live wolf. Atka (pictured) will stop by with a representative from the Wolf Conservation Center to discuss the mythology, biology and ecology of wolf families. Learn how wolf families search out prey and how their pups prepare for their first winter.

  11. Our Picks: Four New Exhibits at the Silvermine Arts Center in New Canaan

While we were all busy partying and recovering from the holidays, the Silvermine Arts Center in New Canaan staff was hard at work flipping their galleries to open four new exhibits this week. There's Donald Axleroad's Disintegration of Truth & Trust, a response to the dissolution of American culture, A Commitment to Color, Movement and Geometry, honoring the life of artist Tina Rohrer, a New Members Exhibition by Mindy Green, Shelby Head, Heather Houston, Lara Ivanovic and Hank Paper, and a Historical Exhibit featuring key works from the Arts Center's collection of prints. A reception on Sunday afternoon will kick things off in style.

  13. Green Wheels: Caring for Classics

I enjoy spending time with my friend Alden Sherman, a Fairfield County resident who's 93 but sure doesn't look or act like it. A machinist and jet engine inventor, he lives surrounded by cool stuff — a 1917 Pope motorized bicycle (made in Hartford!), a mid-30s Duesenberg Toledo kid's car capable of 20 mph, a rare 1830-era steam engine that probably powered a sewing machine, and some really cool cars.

  15. The DOT Clears Timber Along the Merritt Parkway, But Some Worry About the Aesthetic Effect

As the worst storm in recent Connecticut history started to tear through the northeast in late October, the inevitable happened: authorities closed the Merritt Parkway.

  17. Green Wheels: Westport Plugs Into Solar Charging

If you squinted, it looked like the electric future was already here. The eastbound railroad station looked vintage (and is), but that's a 27-kilowatt solar array, designed by Westport solar architect John Rountree and installed by Stratford-based Encon, on its roof.
