The first bilevel commuter train made its appearance on this date on the Aurora line of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad. Along for the inaugural ride were Pops Hanna and Horace B. Hench, both of Hinsdale, who had been riding Burlington trains for nearly half a century.
