CBS to televise Michael Jackson's memorial service

CBS will have live coverage of Michael Jackson's memorial service from the Staples Center in Los Angeles Tuesday beginning around 1 p.m.  The coverage is expected to run about 90 minutes.

More than 17,000 tickets to Michael Jackson's funeral will be given away.  The service will be held at Staples Center in Los Angeles on Tuesday.  Television and internet video feeds will also be available.

The service will be held at 1:00 p.m. eastern time.  Eleven-thousand ticket holders will be admitted to Staples Center.  Another 65-hundred ticket holders will be admitted to the Nokia Theater to watch a video feed of the service.

People who want tickets must register on the web. After 6:00 p.m. Saturday, 8,750 names will be randomly selected to receive two tickets each. Notifications will go out on Sunday. Those selected will obtain their tickets via Ticketmaster on Monday. 

The details of the plan were announced Friday afternoon.  Organizers would not say what would occur during the service.
