Rapper Juvenile, best known for his song: "Back That A** Up," was arrested Thursday evening in St. Bernard Parish for drug possession.Terius Gray, aka Juvenile, 34, of New Orleans, and producer, Leroy Edwards, 43, were both arrested on misdemeanor possession of marijuana after sheriffs received a call regarding the smell of marijuana at the 200 block of Livingston Ave., in Arabi, according to St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office PIO Steve Cannizaro.
Deputies knocked on door of the residence. Edwards opened the door, letting out a cloud of smoke from the drug. Edwards was handcuffed and deputies immediately sought a search warrant.
When deputies returned they found more than a half-ounce of pot in the kitchen area. Juvenile acknowledged it was his.
Juvenile said the residence was owned by someone he knows, and they were using it as a studio to record his new CD.
The two were taken after 6 p.m. to the St Bernard Parish prison, where they were bonded out. The case will be referred to the D.A. for prosecution.
