Weis steps down as president of Chicago Crime Commission

Former Chicago police commissioner Jody Weis confirmed Friday was his last day as president of the Chicago Crime Commission.

According to a news release, Weis says he's resigning in order to pursue other interests in teaching, research and private industry.

“It has been an honor and a pleasure to have served the Chicago Crime Commission, its devoted membership and the City of Chicago," Weis said in the release.

With Weis' departure, Chairman of the Board J.R. Davis will become president of the CCC.
