When Britney Spears' "Circus" pulls into Nassau Coliseum on Wednesday night, it will mark her first area concert appearance since the "Onyx Hotel Tour" in 2004.
Though some things never change - the ongoing questions over whether
Spears is singing or lip-synching, the controversy over whether her new
single, "If U Seek Amy," is too racy - much of her life is radically
different this time around.
Here's a look:
Britney Spears THEN
Family Status: Single. (Her 55-hour marriage to childhood pal Jason Alexander had been annulled earlier that year.)
Primary style: "Oops I Did It Again" pop.

Sales Record: Only female artist to have her first three albums debut at No. 1.
Britney Spears NOW
Family Status: Divorced from Kevin Federline; mother of two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

2008, resulting in a standoff with police and her hospitalization.

where she forgot lyrics and couldn't keep up with her dancers.
Biggest Triumph: Winning three MTV VMAs in 2008 for "Piece of Me," including video of the year.
