David Bush, Robert Mulfinger, Angela Ratliff and Rose Swope were among the 270 scholars who recently attended the Kentucky Youth Seminar in Lexington. The event was sponsored jointly by the Kentucky Council of Cooperatives and the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service.
Mr. and Mrs. John Reed, Holly Hill, Fla., formerly of Winchester, were honored at a dinner Tuesday evening at Bud’s Beef ‘n’ More. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Reed, Catherine Reed, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Campbell, Rachel Martin, Dorothy Palmer. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gray, Opal Van Pelt, Mr.and Mrs. Jerry Deboer, Irene Johnson, Sarah Frances Fraysur, Elizabeth Adams, Gladys Little, Ada Christian, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Berryman, Mr. and Mrs. Boone Hatton and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Quinn.
Lucinda Miller, president of the Winchester Historical Business District Inc. recently presented plaques of appreciation to Clark County Judge-Executive James Allen Jr. and Mayor Eldon Fox for the efforts of the city and county to beautify downtown Winchester.
