Charles Edward Simmons, 91, departed this life Monday, Dec. 10, at Clark Regional Medical Center.
He was the oldest male member of First Baptist Church, and a member of the Mosiac Lodge No. 25 and Shackelford Lodge No. 66. He also was a World War II veteran.

He was a retiree of Rockwell International and was currently employed by Walmart of Winchester for 18 years where he impacted the lives of so many people.

He is survived by his wife of almost 30 years Lenora Simmons; two daughters, Charles Etta Simmons of Winchester and Priscilla (Anthony) Hughes of Morrow, Ga.; two sons, Ward Simmons of Winchester and Albert (Wanda) Simmons of Cincinnati, Ohio; four stepchildren, Maria (Ralph) Parrot of Indianapolis, Ind., Kimberly Cunningham and Michael and Bobby Neal Mundy, all of Winchester; grandchildren, Tiffany Cunningham, Ronda and Dominic Simmons, Douglas Mason II, Youlanda (Kevin) Davidson, Charla Hughes, Maurice (Jessica) Hughes, Kiana Ritchie, Taria Slack, Jasmine and Tyus Cunningham, Albert Jr., Nina, Alexander, Edward, Virgil and Warnecia Simmons, Denzel and Brianna Petty, Dion Clay, Cheresse Walker, Natasha Sleet and Katrina Al-Jumaily; a host of stepgranchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, cousins and many friends, including William and Gwin Tippie, and William (Smoky) Burton.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at First Baptist Church, 37 N. Highland St.

Visitation will be from noon until the hour of service.

Burial will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.

Chenault Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of service.
