Reese Howard, 90, of Bee Spring, died at 3:33 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013 at Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green.
The Clark County native was a retired commercial fisherman and a Navy veteran of World War II, during which he was held in a Japanese POW camp in Burma for 42 months.
He was a son of the late John Howard and Rosalie Parido Howard.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial in Brownsville Cemetery. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Surviving are two sons, Rooks Howard (Kayla) of Roundhill and Timothy Howard (Mickenzi) of Bee Spring; a daughter, Mary Lee Younger (Jesse) of Winchester; a stepson, Harold “Bobo” Butler of Brownsville; a sister, Mary Lewis of St. Augustine, Fla.; three grandchildren, Joey Brewer, Cody Howard and Raegan Howard; and two great grandchildren.
