Hoosiers walked to end hemophilia this weekend. Hemophilia of Indiana hosted a walk Saturday morning at Fort Harrison State Park. Before the walk, Fox59's Edward Moody moderated a discussion session with Jeanne White. She is the mother of Ryan White, who died of AIDS in 1990.
Ryan, who also had hemophilia, contracted the disease from a blood tranfusion in 1984. Jeanne says there a monay more resources for hemophilia patients and their families today.
"We've all pulled together now." she says. " We're learning about the new treatments. We're learning the effects if hemophilia. We're learning how families cope. You know just have this big support team now."
The goal of Saturday's walk was to raise $100,000 for Hemophilia of Indiana.
