According to the West Michigan Film Office, the film will debut in Grand Rapids the week of May 3th. An official announcement and details are expected within the next couple weeks.
The movie, starring Val Kilmer and Armand Assante, was shot in Grand Rapids last fall and premiered last month at the Gasparilla International Film Festival in Tampa, Florida.
While the national celebrities and crew are not expected to make an appearance at the Grand Rapids showing, local cast and crew will be in attendance.
The first showing is scheduled as an invite-only, while public screenings are being planned.
Some West Michigan landmarks shown in the film include the carousel at the Van Andel Museum, Bull's Head Tavern, The Grand Rapids Press, and the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel.
"The Steam Experiment" is scheduled for a DVD release in June.
