If you've ever wanted to monitor your teen's driving habits, one insurance company is making it easier.

Travelers Insurance is now offering IntelliDrive in Virginia.

The device plugs into almost any car made after 1996 and tracks mileage, speed, driving behavior, where and when the car is driven.

By driving less than 10,000 miles a year, customers will receive up to a twenty percent discount.

“The family can set up alerts to come by text or by email. Letting them know that the car is driven outside any parameters they set,” Tony Hare of Travelers Insurance said.

Owners can log onto a secure website to see the driving data.

The service is free to any Travelers insurance member.
