wdbj7 Pets at the library! The Hollins Branch Public Library is starting a new program called "Paws for Reading to promote reading during the summer. The theme this Saturday is "Meet th Greyhounds" Several retired racing greyhounds will be inside the library and kids will learn about their lives and as future family pets. "Everybody love dogs, especially kids, so anything that can get kids to read is a good thing and if you can introduce them to the greyhounds and they can put the actual dog with the book they're reading i think that would help out quite a bit." This is the first time Hollins Library has held events with dogs inside the library. Librarians say they plan to bring more pet friendly programs in the near future. "Meet th Greyhounds" is thi Saturday at the Hollins Library from 2 p.m. to 3. The event is free and open to everyone.
