anniversary tomorrow. Also new tonight. Raising awareness and money. That's the idea behind the fanta's 5-k that took place this morning in Washington Park. The local chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority sponsored the event to raise awareness about domestic violence and collect money for Sabrina's Place. Sabrina's Place is named after Sabrina Reed, a sorority member killed by her estranged husband. Carla Shepherd, Alpha Kappa Alpha: We've been giving donations to Sabrina's Place for years, but we wanted to do soimething more to increase awareness in the communjity and have people get more involved and so last year we said let's do it, let's try it and it was a great success and we've decided to make this an annual event. This is the 2nd year the group sponsored the event. It hopes to make it a yearly occurence.
