everything. Glenvar's football team relied heavily on quarterback Levi Mullins for the past two years, but with that major piece of their team gone, the Highlanders and Coach Kevin Clifford are working to find others to step-up and fill the void. Kevin Clifford, Glenvar Head Football Coach, "Levi threw for abou 44-hundred yards and 51 touchdowns the last two years so obviously that's a big loss. Senior leadership, you know just someone who threw over 500 times in his career so that's tough. That's big shoes to fill no doubt. Zach Clifford, Jake Schaffer, and Elliott Stegall are competing for the job. We'll see how that all shakes out." The Highlanders finished last season at 5 and 6, ending the year with three straight losses, but still made the playoffs. That marked their third- straight post-season appearance, but Glenvar is still trying to get over the hump of actually winning a playoff game-- something they haven't done in more than 20 years. But with everyone up front returning and their leading rusher, Tyler Smith back as well, ending the drought is certainly possible. Kevin Clifford, Glenvar Head Football Coach, "We're going to tak it one day at a time. Since it's been expanded, we've made it 3 years in a row but yeah, we want to win. There's no doubt. We want to get a 'w' in the playoffs and we want to kind of change the mentality of the program and you can't do that when you don't win in the playoffs."
