The asa National softball tournament is happening across the Roanoke Valley this week bringing large crowds with it. More than three- thousand softball players in the 16u bracket are here with games happening at Moyer and the Botetourt Sports Complex. This area has hosted a variety of softball tournaments but none of this magnitude. College coaches from all over-- including Virginia Tech-- made the trip out to see what some of the girls have to offer. With a tournament so close to Blacksburg, new Hokie assistant Justin Miller was able to swing by to catch a glimpse of some action Thursday, and hopes to use it as a major recruiting time. Justin Miller: This is great. You know we've got the national tournament right here in our backyard. You bring in some quality competition and the thing about national tournaments is you get to see these girls really compete on a whole nother level than you do pretty much all summer. To have it right here close to Blacksburg is great.
