against closing Roanoke's Mail Distribution center protested in downtown Roanoke today. As of now, a plan will take effect on January 1st that will relax the first class mail delivery standards. Part of that plan is to move Roanoke's mail processing into Greensboro, North Carolina. Protesters are asking Congress to make changes to the plan that will close the facility and want customers to know what the impact could be. Carlton Cooper-- American Postal Workers Union President: We're asking our customer to stand up and demand first class service for a first class stamp. Right now the Postal Service's plan is to consolidate Roanoke's facility in Mid-April.
