wdbj7 This morning kicks off our Food Theme Week. Throughout the week, we head to different spots in our viewing area to show you what's good. wdbj7 Mornin's Alison Parker is live at Virginia Tech to give us a taste of what's cooking. It's not just about what's cooking, but who's cooking. This week, Virginia Tech is hosting its Advanced Culinary Camp for kids. They get to learn all sorts of cooking techniques to impress. Jessica Filip is organizing the camp. Tell us more about what kids are learning? Executive chefs and managers will be teaching advanced cooking techniques, food safety, knife skills, and more. Campers will: -gain hands-on culinary training; -learn advanced techniques on grilling, tempering, roasting, and more; -learn kitchen and food safety; I'm also here with Executive Chef Chang Lei Yun. Throughout the morning, you'll make a dish that encompasses lots of the techniques campers will learn. Tell us about it. Coming up, we'll take a closer look at that dish and maybe learn a few tricks of our own.
