SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. -- A snowboarder had a close call with an avalanche in Summit County, and the action was caught on video.
It happened in the backcountry near Montezuma on January 25. It's not far from Keystone.
Pro snowboarder Meesh Hytner was caught in a sizable (class 3) avalanche. She was able to deploy what's called an avalanche float... it's an airbag that helps her stay on top of the rumbling snow during her long ride.
The video came from Tyler Malay and the crew at workhorsecollective.com.
