A few showers have developed this afternoon in Central and Southside Virginia and are moving east to west. While most are very light, a few may contain brief downpours. No severe weather is expected with these showers/storms. Most will taper off overnight with areas of fog and clouds, especially in areas that saw the rain. Lows in the mid 60s.
We're between a coastal low to our east, and an upper low to our west. The combination of the two will deliver an increase in moisture off the Atlantic, providing more clouds and daily chances for showers/storms. **This doesn't mean everyone will see one each day.
Sunday we will continue to watch a low pressure area linger along the North Carolina coast. It will likely push more clouds our way and perhaps some afternoon showers and storms.
Looks like next week will be a repeat of the weekend. A southwesterly flow will setup delivering increased shower chances. While no day is a washout, each day will deliver a few showers and storms, mainly in the afternoon and evening.
Afternoon highs will warm slightly to the mid and upper 80s to around 90 in the Southside and Piedmont.
