HANOVER COUNTY, VA (WTVR) - A Hanover County man was arrested Monday after deputies say he shot a family member during an argument. The Hanover Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting call near Stockade Circle and Stockade Drive in the Battlefield Green subdivision Monday evening around 5:00 p.m. Once on scene deputies found a 25-year-old man who had been shot in the leg. Officers then surrounded a home in the 8200 block of Stockade and arrested 53-year-old Joseph I. McLane. Officers say McLaine was arguing with the victim, pulled out a gun and shot the man in the leg. McLaine is charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. The shooting victim was treated at the scene, then transported to the hospital for more treatment.
