Suspect arrested after realtor assaulted while showing property in Bedford County
BEDFORD Co., Va. (WDBJ) - UPDATE: Dustin R. Holdren, 34, of Roanoke, was arrested by the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office. He is charged with Aggravated Malicious Wounding and is being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail Authority with no bond.
The female victim was hit in the head with a blunt object.
According to the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, additional charges are pending.
EARLIER STORY: The Bedford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a realtor was allegedly assaulted Saturday at an open house.
Deputies responded to the call around 2 p.m. near Smith Mountain Lake at the Mariners Landing Subdivision in Huddleston.
The realtor was transported to a hospital. Her condition has not been released.
The realtor works for Keller Williams Realty, according to the Roanoke Valley Association of Realtors (RVAR).
There is no word on any suspects in the case.
The RVAR is encouraging agents to be extremely cautious when showing properties and advises them to never host an open house alone.
