Tractor-trailer crash cleared in Pulaski Co. after hours of lane closures

PULASKI COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - UPDATE: According to VDOT, the crash has been cleared.

EARLIER: A tractor-trailer crash along I-81S at 1.5 miles south of Junction US 11 and Virginia 100 South-Exit 89A is causing a delay, according to VDOT.

Both the South right lane and shoulder are closed.

Virginia State Police responded Monday evening to a crash between two tractor-trailers that collided in the southbound lanes. At least one of the trucks flipped after hitting the embankment.

Two people were taken to Carilion New River Valley Medical Center by ambulance. A third was airlifted by helicopter to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

State Police Motor Carrier Team troopers were on-scene.
