LEXINGTON, Va. (WDBJ) - The Lexington and Rockbridge Chamber of Commerce had to rethink its annual fundraiser.

Normally, after a luxurious banquet, they would have an auction of a range of items from members, but with COVID preventing the get-together, they’ve taken the auction online, hoping to keep some of the excitement along with permitting them to fund the chamber’s efforts.

”It’s a big networking event for us,” said Executive Director Tracy Lyons. “It’s a way to honor our sponsors and say thank you and honor our business individuals of the year, but it’s also a huge fundraiser for us. So it brings in a good amount of money to support just our programs, our educational opportunities for our members, and this way we’re allowed to do that and still hopefully make up some revenue that will help support us.”

Anyone can bid on items ranging from gift baskets to balloon rides on the Circle C Auction site.
