ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - WDBJ7 reporter Leanna Scachetti has been nominated for an Emmy award.

Leanna’s piece “The Pilot’s Cap” was nominated in the Serious Feature category by the Capital Emmys.

Former WDBJ7 reporter Tim Saunders, now with Virginia Career Works, was also nominated for “That’s what it meant to people in Bedford,” in the Historical/Cultural category.

The National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter (NCCB) of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) is a non-profit, professional organization serving the Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC television community. The Academy’s goals are to “foster creative leadership in the television industry, and to encourage artistic, educational and cultural excellence and technical progress.”
