CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (WDBJ) - Nonprofits in the New River Valley are eligible to get grant money as they continue to navigate out of the pandemic.

The Community Foundation of the New River Valley awards these grants every year, but this time is continuing to focus on providing general operating support for 501c(3) organizations.

Money for basic overhead and paying staff isn’t typically funded by grants, but NRV organizations will be able to use this grant for it.

“Even though our community is starting to emerge from COVID now, that doesn’t mean that nonprofits are back to full speed when it comes to their fundraising and their programs, so we wanted to acknowledge that and continue with our operating support in 2021,” Chief Executive Officer Jessica Wirgau said.

Organizations are eligible for up to $4,000 in grants. You can apply through July 23 on the CFNRV’s website.
