ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - The Central Shenandoah Health District is shifting its vaccine strategy in coming weeks.

With nearly 50% of adults having received their first vaccination in the district, they are moving away from large vaccine clinics to more mobile, smaller clinics focused on meeting people where they are.

”CSHD is continuing to partner with our local health care providers, including Rockbridge Area Health Center and Carilion Rockbridge Community Hospital, as well as our local emergency management, to identify vaccine clinic opportunities and vaccine opportunity gaps in Lexington, Rockbridge and Buena Vista,” according to the health district’s Larua Lee Wight.

To help people find clinics, the district has started issuing a community vaccine calendar, listing locations where clinics are being set up by health district partners as well as the district itself.
