Lynchburg Regional Airport receives additional coronavirus relief funds
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ) - More coronavirus relief funds will head to the Lynchburg area’s airport.
City council approved more than $1 million of relief funds for the airport Tuesday.
Lynchburg Regional Airport officials say that money will go toward things like operating expenses and salaries.
They say the funds come at a good time, as airports nationwide continue to recover from the pandemic.
“These CARES money will continue to help us all the way through 2022, 2023, which is what we do need to make sure we get back to 100% of where we were,” said Andrew LaGala, airport director.
LYH has four years to spend that money.
