Catawba district gets interim school board member
ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - The Roanoke County School Board has appointed former school board member David Wymer to fill the interim Catawba district seat.
At its meeting Thursday, the board asked all those who have applied for the seat to consider running in November. Wymer doesn’t plan to run.
The board says it wants residents to choose the successor to Donald Butzer, and that Wymer will be able to hit the ground running and help with decisions as kids go back to school in the fall.
Wymer said all the candidates are qualified, and he looks forward to serving until the November election.
