BLACKSBURG, Va. (WDBJ) - LewisGale Montgomery Hospital unveiled another part of its $35 million renovation project Thursday.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to mark the occasion of the newly-renovated Cardiac Catherization Lab. It features upgraded technology for cardiac imaging, systems to enhance patient care and ways to make complex procedures even safer and simpler.

“It allows us to not have to risk transporting a patient a great distance to have the care. They can actually have the care here and their recovery is here, in their home,” Interventional Cardiologist Dr. John Patterson said. “People sleep better in their own bed.”

The upgrades will allow the cardiology team to continue providing first-class treatment.
