Rail Yard Dawgs return to ice after 601 days
ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - After 601 days since their last hockey game, Roanoke’s Rail Yard Dawgs will begin their 2021-2022 season October 15, 2021.
The team will play a 56-game regular season, according to Friday’s announcement. The games will be split evenly between away and home and will feature 22 Friday and Saturday games, as well as three Thursday and three Sunday dates.
The Dawgs’ last home game was February 22, 2020; soon after, the 2019-2020 SPHL season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The team hopes for a big comeback this season.
Full- and half-season tickets are available for purchase, and the box office has begun to book group outings as well. The announcement stated quarter season and Kid’s Club packages would go on sale in the coming weeks. The on-sale date for single-game tickets has not yet been released, but is expected in September.
