New Forest adult care center seeks to help seniors out of isolation

FOREST, Va. (WDBJ) - A growing part of our area has a new place for senior citizens to head to.

Runk and Pratt has opened an adult day center in Forest. The center offers amenities such as trips, meals and church services.

They say it fills a need for seniors who are depressed or feel isolated and want somewhere safe to interact with others.

“That aging takes their body through feeling disconnected and not vital and not important anymore. So, a center like this can give them connection and friendships and really safety during the day,” said Vickie Runt, owner and vice president.

An open house will be held March 16 from noon to 4 p.m.
