One dead after shooting in parking lot of Martinsville business
MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) - Donny Shermaine Martin, 44 of Martinsville, was pronounced dead at the scene of a shooting in the parking lot of Kuntry Boyz Tires (8985 A.L. Philpott Hwy.) Friday.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office responded around 12:30 p.m. to a report of a person who had been shot and found the man lying on the ground. He sustained multiple injuries in the torso area.
The man’s body will be taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the Western District of Virginia for an autopsy.
Investigators say an argument began between the victim and Stephen Darnell Holland, during which Holland shot Martin multiple times.
Holland, 39 of Axton, is charged with first-degree murder and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He is being held without bond at the Henry County Jail.
