Roanoke Food Lion shooting suspect released

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - The man who was taken into custody in connection with a shooting at a Roanoke supermarket has been released after he spoke with police, who consulted the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office. No charges have been filed against anyone and no further details have been released regarding the circumstances of the shooting.

The shooting took place at the Food Lion at 2631 Peters Creek Road, according to Roanoke Police, who found two people with gunshot wounds.

Police say a man sustained serious injuries and woman’s wounds were not considered life-threatening. Both were taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital., and there is no outstanding threat to the public.
