1 killed another injured in Lynchburg three-vehicle-crash

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ) -UPDATE: The Lynchburg Police Department is investigating a three-vehicle-crash that killed a woman and injured another driver.

Police and the Lynchburg Fire Department responded to reports of a crash at 2:24 p.m. Sunday at the 700 block of Leesville Road.

 On scene, responders noticed one driver, an 86-year-old woman from Lynchburg, had died.

According to police, another driver was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital.

Lynchburg Emergency Services asked drivers to seek alternative routes, but the road is now open to traffic.

Police say the crash remains an active investigation.
