Brittany Morgan became the Sports Director of WDBJ7 in January 2023 after anchoring the weekend evening newscasts. She started anchoring weekend mornings in November 2021 after being hired as an MMJ in July.
She began her career in journalism as the Weekend MMJ with WTAP News in Parkersburg, W.Va. From there, Brittany began anchoring WTAP's morning newscast and producing and anchoring the Noon in July of 2019. She received an Ohio Associated Press Media Editors award for anchoring in 2020.
In addition to those responsibilities, Brittany worked two seasons as the sideline reporter for WTAP's live high school football broadcasts, Football Frenzy Overtime.
Before WTAP, Brittany spent five years as a performer at Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament in Hanover, Maryland and the 2017 and 2018 baseball seasons in the Entertainment Department of the Washington Nationals. She is from Springfield, Virginia and attended West Springfield High School.
Brittany has a passion for performance, sports, and ice cream. Her special skills include sleeping in until 2pm and regularly confusing the words pastrami and Stromboli.
