Katey Roshetko calls Virginia home even though she only moved here nine years ago.
Katey Roshetko has lived around the world but calls Virginia home. Raised as an Air Force B.R.A.T., she’s lived all over the United States and Germany, and visited many places in between.
She attended Liberty University from 2010-2016. She graduated in 2014 with a degree in Broadcast-Journalism, and again in 2016 with a Master's in Strategic Communications. She started her reporting career while in college as a sports reporter for the Liberty Flames Sports Network. She also produced several features with the school’s weekly sports show, Game On.
In July 2016, Katey got her first job in television news at KHQA, in Quincy, Illinois. During her 8-month stint as KHQA’s morning producer, she fell further in love with creating T.V. and telling real stories that educate, entertain and inspire people.
In April 2017, she moved back to Virginia, this time settling down in Roanoke and becoming a part of the WDBJ7 team. She moved from being morning producer and on-air reporter for WDBJ7 Mornin’ to the bureau reporter in the New River Valley. Now she’s excited to be back with her “A.M. Newsers,” as the full-time morning reporter.
She’s always looking for the next great hometown story to highlight and has been called the “good news reporter.”
