Mason Prince is a reporter at WDBJ7.
Mason Prince joined the WDBJ7 team as a reporter in July 2018 after working two years at WGXA in Macon, Georgia. While in Macon, Mason was a sports anchor and reporter covering Mercer University, the University of Georgia and high school athletics.
Mason was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated from Jenks High School in 2011. He then began studying journalism at the University of Oklahoma and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in sociology in December 2015. While at OU, Mason was the beat leader for the football and men’s basketball teams. He also was a news and sports anchor for the student-led nightly newscast “OU Nightly” and the host of the award-winning show “Sooner Sports Pad” on Fox Sports Oklahoma. Mason was awarded TV Personality of the Year by the Oklahoma Broadcast Educators Association and won TV Sports Talent of the Year from the South Central Broadcasting Society in 2014. His fondest memory of college is creating the show “GamedayU” with his classmates which was a live two-hour pre-game show dedicated to OU and college football.
